MEET JUSTICE GREG SHAW
Justice Greg Shaw is the senior member of the Alabama Supreme Court and a proven Christian conservative who has spent more than four decades defending the rule of law.
Raised in Birmingham, he graduated from Auburn University with a degree in chemistry, earned his law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and later completed a Master of Laws degree in the Judicial Process at the University of Virginia. After practicing law and serving many years as a senior staff attorney for the Alabama Supreme Court, he served on the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and as Chief Judge of the Alabama Court of the Judiciary before becoming a member of the Supreme Court in 2009.
Greg and his wife Sam have been married 46 years. They have two sons, three grandchildren (Isla Claire, John Thomas, and Everett William), and live on their farm in Tallapoosa County. Justice Shaw has dedicated his entire judicial career to applying the law as written and addressing every issue that comes before the Court fairly.
